Hi , does anyone know the build numbers for this model ? all the info I can find does not say how many had cloth seats ? or how many in each colour were made ? as the cloth seat examples must be much more collectable than the very plain leather seat cars ? Mark.

Hi Mark.
HSVFORUMS is a good site.
If you are looking for an HSVGTS I would suggest you also consider the VT 2 running the LS1. Better performance and fuel economy. Also slight edge with handling. The series two was better sorted. I know the Aussie cast iron motor is iconic and I loved the 5ltr in the VS Clubbie I once had but the Alloy Chev cars are just better. Recently sold a VT2 R8 Clubbie manual we bought new and it was a much better car to drive than the GTS1 we test drove several times.

GTS1 is probably too young to really be considered collectable unless it has only several thousand K's up.

My R8 was showroom, stock standard with 55000Ks on the clock. Took nearly a year to sell and only got a thousand or two more than the 200,000K cr@p which had been flogged. Fortunately went to a guy who cares and it is now locked away so will be a survivor one day.

Cheers
Nick.

I agree with Nick. I love the old EFI 304 and 350 Holden engines but you can't beat the GenIII and IV motors in bang for buck except in transpalnt situations where the Holden engine is miles in front in ease and cost of fitment. They aren't a Chev engine though Nick, they are as much a Holden motor as they are a Chev.

Hi Mark.
That's low mileage. I don't think a car with that kind of mileage would depreciate much more, if at all.

The "Achilles Heel" of the GTS one was the whole VTII HSV range. It was a quantum leap forward with the base model Clubsport not only being much quicker but also a better car in many ways. Presently, this limits the value of a GTS1 but given time that model should establish itself as the unique model that it is.

If you can afford the holding cost and like what you have then just sit and enjoy for a while.

I am in a similar situation. Would like to sell one car and make things a bit simpler. Don't need to for any other reason.
Cheers. Nick.
