Yes im pretty sure you could buy this combination in 1968, if you specially ordered it. Goya red interior wasnt a (RPO) regular production option, but could be ordered. So the big ID plate on this car should be stamped next to Trim 1173- 12X (goya code).Ive never seen one in that combo before. Sorry cant help you on the other questions.

Just looking at that white one on AMCS, can't believe they would be asking $65k for a replica thats lacking in detail and so badly finished. The bent Monaro badge on the bootlid, the dent in the dashboard, the painted all over engine bay, wheel arch mouldings missing, yada yada yada.

hi westoz .. when i was a kid on a pushbike in Avondale Heights (Victoria about 1974) i used to ride past an Ermine White HK GTS327 with either black or red interior....all original, but i think it had an auto because the Warwick Yellow 327 around the corner about 250 yards jumped out at me because i remember it being a manual....aaahh they were the days LOL....cheers

Hi guys,
I'm just wondering if anyone out there has info on exterior / interior colour combinations available on the HT GTS?
I want to stick to original options (albeit not the actual car's original options) and want to know what interior was available with spanish red exterior? I presume black and tan. I'm wondering if any houndstooth options were available with this colour and what colour houndstooth? thanks guys!

Awesome mate thanks. With a red interior do u have the actual name of the colour and code? And if I understand right the red interior could be had with black and white houndstooth inserts too? Wow that's multicoloured! Was orange houndstooth avail with anything other than black interior and orange exterior? Thanks again!

The red is Morocco red and is 12X and 12Y.

Orange houndstooth only with Black trim in HT and on Sebring Orange only.

14X is pretty common with 1153 in a HK GTS, but I don't think anyone has any real numbers of how many 1837's were made in any combination.

Hi again guys just another question regarding interiors - does anyone know if a reclining mechanism (which also has the flip forward option) can be added to a monaro fixed position (with flip forward) seat or are they a completely different kettle of fish? Also does anyone know if the premier / brougham bucket seat base is the same as monaro? I know monaro seats are lower but I don't know if that's the seat base thickness or just lower seat mounts (rear seat I presume has to be thinner base though?) Cheers!

The reclining bucket seat was not standard in any HK HT HG model. They were an option. The only thing the same from the standard coupe lever tilt seats and recliners is the runners. A reclining bucket seat from a Kingswood or a Premier will be the same as a Monaro seat apart from the trim. I'm led to believe Brougham recliners may have extra springs. I know they definitely had extra foam. The parts for reclining buckets are quite hard to get. The mechanisms and knobs were European, not a Holden part and also used by Ford at the same time in XY's and ZD's. The chrome side plates are often bent, torn and damaged. These were reproduced by Dave Mitchell (R.I.P.) of Holbusters in Victoria in the 80's. He had a thousand pairs made in Taiwan. There were only a handful of scratched sets left a couple of years ago. They turn up on ebay from time to time. The winder knob was reproduced a couple of years ago. Whoever reproduced them didn't do their homework because the original part is still produced by its original European manufacturer and it has a patent on it.
