gday all, recently purchased an 87 XF Falcon sedan. was told the engine was recod 9 years ago with only having done approx 30,000ks in those 9 years (spent past 3 years parked up). on the ID tags, the engine code is E - 4.1 l, numbers / letters on ID tags match whats stamped on the block. having removed the kick panel to reveal the computer, it has the factory sticker on it that reads 3.3 l automatic.
will this 3.3l computer operate the 4.1 l??
or id the engine a 3.3 l that has been restamped when reconditioned??
is there any way of finding out??

cheers

mick

id be more inclined to think that the est computer was replaced at some time. pretty common for them to let go

you can stroke test the crank to be certain or look for casting marks on the alloy head and try and find if its a 250 head or not
