Hi im new to this site, I have a 2004 Ford Territory Ghia, It has recently been into a panel works to have damage repair done to a rear panel and the rear bumper (cosmetic damage only- no electrical or engine damage) anyway, the people at the panel work took it upon themselves to muck about with my engine and now my car judders badly upon acceleration. it drove perfectly before it went in to the panel works...when i went to get it back the bloke told me it wasnt driving properly (load of rubbish) and that he had their mechanic do something to "coils" in the engine... thing is, I have no idea what these coils are, and if it is really the cause of the juddering problem. The car dosent judder when I start it and drive off from standstill, it starts juddering when I get to 40ish and try to accelerate from there. makes overtaking road trains and other slow vehicles impossible, and I am reluctant to drive far in case my car breaks down. Also when going uphill the juddering gets worse on acceleration and the car starts to lose power. Anyone who can shed light on this would be helping me out heaps.

Sounds like a faulty ignition coil to me or maybe your spark plugs are knackered.

People like that are the biggest thieves. they should not of touched under the bonnet. Maybe the leads with idiots pulling at them. or swapping them.

They don't have leads they have 6 coils one on each plug and they do fail with regular monotony. Easier to replace all 6 that to waste time guessing which one is faulty. |
