Steve & Rachael Coad have brought their HQ Coupe back to Tasmania for this years Targa Tasmania.
If you live in Tassie, and have never seen this car before, I highly recommend you get along to any Targa stage and take a look at this awesome beast...No: 519.

In testing the car earlier this year, it was turning out 40+ more horsepower than a V8 Supercar on the Dyno, and at Calder Raceway in January it was picking off SuperCars going down the straights.
Unfortunately it loses out on the corners as the clas it races in restrict it to 16" wheels....and loses grip:-(

At Classic Adelaide, the Monaro took out 5th place, the only cars in front were all BTR's.

You gotta admire people like Steve & Rachael.....there is a hugh expense in bringing the car over to Tassie for Targa, and it's a race they can never win outright, due to the handicapping system....they are handicapped 6 seconds per kilometer in the competition stages.

However, that's good news for us rev heads, and the viewing public....Steves (almost) sole purpose is to thrill the crowds by throwing the car sideways at every opportunity....He gets really upset if he doesn't go through a set of tyres per day!

Ah, well, enough of my rantings....hard to tell I'm a big fan of this car & crew :-) :-) :-)

Yep...Dylan is correct.
I can't remember whose car the engine came out of, but the engine is now stroked to 413ci and is still naturally aspirated!!!
The original coupe was a grey LS coupe bought new by somebody in Georgetown Tasmania.
The car was then

Makes you wonder how an A9X would stack up against a V8 supercar if the same engineering changes as the HQ were made and it was allowed to run a V8 supercar spec engine.
