Help needed. I have 2 BA remotes, one of which has one faulty switch (the actual switch on the circuit board, not the rubber pad), and the other has two faulty switches. Just wondering if these can be repaired, or if anyone does after-market replacement circuit boards, as the genuine Ford remotes units are fairly pricey. The only replacement parts I have been able to locate on the net are the rubber pads.

I have just been through all of this with my BA. Are you sure that it's the buttons? the battery tray in them becomes un soldered from the board so pushing the buttons hard makes them work.

However the buttons themselves do become faulty as well. When mine did I gave them a good spray with electrical contact cleaner from Jaycar which worked a treat. I think that Jaycar might sell similar buttons too.

There is a seller on Ebay that sells new ones for $47.95 buy it now from time to time but as you may guess they sell pretty quickly.

No Jim, it's definitely the buttons. I was going to make one good item out of the 2 by de-soldering one of the good buttons from one unit and using it to replace the faulty button on the other unit, but on closer examination, the buttons are next to impossible to de-solder because of the way they're fitted to the circuit board.
