Hi ya Everyone this has been and on going prob for my vr for about 4-5 months. When taking off from the lights or where ever, the car appears to shudder and splutter a little and I have to put my foot down harder to get it to go into the next gear or it feelslike it will stall but never does. It happens every now and again but has gotten worse. It Also does it in beteeen 80 and 100 km on the highway sound like a shudder and a clunk feels like a loss of power. Basically it shakes and shudders on start off but not all the time and then seems to drive ok untill I have to put my foot heavy down and it does it again really hard to explian but it is definatley not right. I changed the fuel filter and it seemed to go fine for about 2 days then the prob was back. when I did leads and plugs 5000 kms ago the prob didnt seem to be apparent but my mechanic seems to think that it is not leads and plugs this time. He has told me to get a diagnostic check it is around 75 bucks with a fuel pressure test. Could it be the fuel pump anyway it is hard to explain but any replies will be great.

Sounds more like a fuel problem to me...especially if it's only happening when you need more power (eg: take off or more acceleration). I'd say the pump is trying to die on you....or you have dirt in the pickup filter which is in the fuel tank. Getting p |

I have a V6 VN Berlina and sounds like the same problem. I was going to start on leads, plugs ect but for $9.00 odd cheap option I put some good injector clean in the tank. Always believing this stuff mumbo jumbo! But I have to eat my words as in the firs

Have you changed fuel supplier recently? This may sound daft, but the VR I ditched would absolutely not run on BP 91 octane. Caltex, Mobil, Shell, not probs. (Even though in NZ they are supposedly all brewed in the same place). A tank of BP was like p |

With all the discount fuel offers in Australia at the moment, it wouldnt surprise me, that a bulk buyer of petrol may want to maximize profit by importing fuel from some 3rd world country.
