G'day All,
I need to know if it is feasible to put a rear sway bar on the tonner, there are no brackets on the axle housing or diff anywhere, can these be welded on or do I have to get a later model rear end ? can this be done with leaf springs or is there another alternative to stop the sway? It has one on the front , but it doesnt seem to be too effective, still a lot of sway and body roll, will putting a heavy duty V8 one improve it? Any advice appreciated greatly. Thanks. Russ.

Find a HZ or WB ute/van or 1-tonner and have a look underneath. The brackets on the diff housing can be replaced with clamps that will probably come with an aftermarket sway bar. The ones on the chassis are easily copied and tek screwed or welded on.

Hi Russ,

As Byron said, the brackets to go over your diff housing come with the aftermarket swaybar. They are, basically, a pair of big U bolts with a plate and saddle (like a pipe saddle) on the open end. You will have to, carefully, bend your brakeli
