I was wondering if anyone can shed some light or information on the 1/24 scale plastic promotional toys of a HK Premier and HK Monaro from 1968. I have only seen very few of them over the years and I know they were offered in different colours and were front wheel friction driven. I believe they were made in Australia. I remember there were a couple in the Echuca Holden Museum when I was there in 2000.

Can anyone tell me more about them? The reason I ask is that I know of a person that has a few unopened cartons of them, new old stock, that I might be able to obtain but I don't know too much about them or how common they are. There seems to be no information on the internet. Any help would be much appreciated.

They were commissioned by GM-H to commemorate the new 5 litre V8 engine and were made by platinum promotions. They are not painted, just colour plastic. I have only seen orange ones.

They were sold or given away by Holden dealers etc. There are photos of them at promotional dos etc.

They are fairly rare, probably only a few hundred left. If you get a few cartons then that will probably double the number out there. I have the Monaro but no box, so let me know if you secure them.
