Is there anybody out there with info (PDF or IPC or other) on rebuilding a Bendix -Bishop Power steering box out of a Hz

one thing when putting the thing back together is to make sure the internal gearing is lined up properly. I did one once with a mates pvan and we only got one turn of the steering wheel each way. I left before we figured out what went wrong. Does anyone h

Hi Guys.

While I encourage DIY on cars (that's how I learnt), I think the overhaul of a Bendix-Bishop power steering box is beyond most home mechanics.

I've been overhauling these since the late 70s & there are many 'traps for young players'.

Not rocket science sure, but damage the sector shaft on an old holden, then try to find someone to fix it....there is a bloke in victoria - preston I think it is who can tell you what you need to know

Is this topic still alive?If someone takes a box apart, i'd love to see pictures of what is actually involved in the rebuild, althought $265 exchange sounds pretty fair to me.

fry i have purchased dr terrys boxes and pumps for resale and have had no problems...also used his steering rack and box in my own ute and it is perfect with no leaks or problems...cheers greg
