Thanks for posting the pics. What that tells me is that there were likely two suppliers of the part. Common then. e.g. Smiths and VDO for instruments. Vinyl from mainly Nylex but also often from offshore. It is taboo for any production line to stop for any reason. Let alone because a supplier of a single component has a problem delivering on time. I would love to know who were the suppliers...who knows, the patterns could still be lying around somewhere.
