My old boss is finally thinking about selling his HG Bathurst Monaro which he purchased new from Muirs Holden (??) in Sydney. It is not pristine...but it's not bad either. It is a matching numbers car with the original 350 motor and 4 speed manual gearbox. This car has travelled only 46,000 miles since new. The trim is pretty ordinary but the car is supplied with factory rear seat trims/covers and enough black and gold houndstooth material to retrim the front seats. Paint is pretty ordinary as well but there is not rust anywhere in the car. This car has never been modified apart from having a set of Aunger jelly bean mags fitted. Nor has it been in any serious accidents.
SO...what would something like this be worth?
Thanks in advance.

I'd take a stab at somewhere between $45k and $75k, but this is based soley on the condition as described. With a car like this you'd always want to see it and crawl all over it.
Is it an earlier car with US engine or one of the higher performance later cars with Canadian engine? |

Not sure what engine it is but I'd take a guess and say the later one. The car was still on the showroom floor after the HQ was released. He originally wanted a HQ 2 door but there was a 6 month wait for them at the time so he got the HG.

The later HG GTS350 is the highest performance production Holden produced up until modern stuff. Is all but identical in straight line performance to a PhaseIII as tested in the day, only just shaded by the PhaseIII in 1/4 mile and 0-100. |
