Has anyone experienced this on an XC:
Battery drained (recharged battery. THEN)
Generator warning light comes on ONLY when ignition is off!

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Thanks

Light is remaining on.
It must have taken about 24 hours to drain.

I'm guessing the light it self is not enough of a load to drain the bettery in that time.( Is it?) I haven't actually measured the current being drawn.

Yes that means the diodes in your alternator are cactus & therefore your alternator is draining your battery.
