Is that being sponsored by the same John Goss, of the dreaded John Goss special fame?
It sounds like a first class idea, but I don't think we have quite the same issues in Victoria. We do, however have some World Class xxxxwits, who occasionally discover, after they have recently purchased a property in the vicinity, the odious presence of something like Sandown Racecourse (opened in 1962), Point Cook airport (opened in 1912) or Essendon Airport (opened in 1921). These first class brain donors behave as if someone built it last night while they were sleeping, and demand that it be closed/moved/nobbled in some way. Same issue in Qld?

Not sure who started it. Probably inspired by the god botherer who is upset about Stanthorpe's Carnell Park racetrack.
And Essendon is a prime example. Ditto Lakeside Raceway here in Qld. At least Lakeside is hosting races- albeit with a rolling start.
Better a rolling start than no starts though!
