Which assembly plant engine are you after? And which of the 6 x assembly date codes for the early type 327 engine (there is no such thing as a series 1 HK). |

If you want the thing to actually be seen as concours, at least at a glance to most people you are going to want a fairly specific GMH engine number.
Also, are you certain it is a type 1? Every other Pagewood GTS327 above number 285 so far that has turned up has been a type 2. If your car still has its original radiator or engine wiring harness you may be able to tell, but if its chassis number is HK45xxxSS and PSN is H555xxx it'll be a type 2 engine. If the original steering box is there and it is xM8 it'll be a type 2 engine. PM me the info if you like and we can talk offline. What I recommend you do is go to the NSW RMS and fill out a freedom of information request and see what comes up against your chassis number (HK45xxxSS). If you have a NSW mate who is a copper they should be able to do the same thing for you. The engine number that comes back will most likely look like 32715xxxKxxxxH which is a type 2 engine (by the K and lack of the 5 on the end of the type 1). When you find the number get back to me and you may be extremely lucky! |
