When Ford and Holden finally leave the building will we see imported RHD Camaros and mustangs battle it out at Bathurst. I've heard a few tales told and thought the forum crew may have some input...???

Not like it's new Mustangs battling Camaros is it. Just history repeating itself.
The question is will the racing be crap like car racing today or good like it was back then??

Be it whatever car they "base" it on - the finished product will be pushed & pulled & poked & prodded until it barely resembles the actual road car it is supposedly derived from.... I see it heading even more towards the nascar style standardised body - 2 door sedan/coupe type profile, with just a "face" to denote the manufacturer.
I know there's a number of people working in a bunker on a "2 door" silhouette body and turbo V6 for the future, and as far as I'm concerned, it looks even more bleak than the current racing. |

It depends on what "racing" is to the individual.
Is it a competition between drivers, or cars?
I'd personally rather go and see three historic meetings in preference to one V8 Supercar event for the same money.
The cars are varied, usually interesting and the people are approachable, accessible and passionate.
It's interesting to note that the most popular classes tend to be Group N, Group A and C, and F5000.
I'd much rather watch someone flog along an old FE, Mini, Cortina, Falcon GT, Monaro or Mustang than watching a rock star steer a generic disposable jelly mould car.
But then modern road cars are like that too, aren't they?
