Dash lights also run off the park light circuit.
Even though it's not blowing fuses, check for a short from the brown wire at the cigarette lighter (dash lights) and the cig lighter body, or the metal of the gear lever area below it. |

thanks for the fast reply
i checked the brown wire as you said and there is no signs of a short and out of curiosity i disconnected the lighter and gave that a go still no fix but as for the dash lights they haven't worked for a wile they function but they dont light up today i found an empty fuse pocket (number 16) i think that was the problem but its to bright outside to see if they light up but with that being said the lights still aren't working

I assume you are saying that there is power comimg from the relevant terminal on the relay. that being the case the fault must lie between the relay and the lights. trace the wiring from each light back to the relay, if one of the 6 lights (2 front 2 rear 2 side) is shorted it could affect the power to all. also, first, clean the earths up there could be a bad earth there somewhere. try running a lead straight from the battery to each light, if one does not work there is most likely your you problem. don't have a fire though just touch the wires first in case it is a dead short. also if you have been testing by running a wire directly to the relay it will avoid the light switch and therefore seem to be working when the villain is the switch

The BCM also has control over the lights, and will turn them off if you leave them on and lock the car. It could have developed an internal BCM fault. |
