I'm going backpacking this summer and i need help finding the smallest, lightest bed/ground mat available, i just need something to offer a little padding from the floor, don't need luxurious comfort, just something that will soften the ground a litte. I'm trying to pack as light as possible, do any camping experts out there know of products i could buy that fit this description? I really don't want to have to inflate/deflate an air bed every night, i'm considering not taking anything at all if i can;t find something small enough, would this be a mistake?

Try a small Thermarest or something similar. Rolls up small, self inflates (mostly). You can get them in a range of sizes and thicknesses (not sure they have a lot to do with Holdens .. but I have used mine in the past for working under my car)
