Hi all
Just planning my next step with my HT restoration. I hope to have the "poorly" repaired section all replaced properly in the next few weeks and basically have the holes filled sections replaced and the car ready for the next step the way it deserves.

Now while I hope to have a local solution for panel work I want a plan B. Seems to be plenty of panel/painters down south with Monaro restoration experience but not sure about NSW. My Car was blasted/chemical stripped DP40 primed with repair sections reprimed. I plan to paint underside myself and I have a painter ready to do the top coat. I'm after someone in NSW to do the panel work like gap, straighten, filler, etc. generally get the car ready for top coats.

Any recommendations for panel work in NSW ?

Cheers

St Marys Prestige Smash did my 67 Mustang coupe and it won best paint in the first show I took it to. Steve and the guys there will start on my HT in the next week or so. They do all manner of cars and have a passion for working on the older ones (apparently more metal). If they are close to you drop in and check out some of the cars they are working on.

I have no idea on what cost runs at these days. Had a chat to a company Down south and they said allow $13,000 for body and $18,000 for paint. That's well above my budget. I was hoping body work would be well below $10,000 even allowing for all panels needing some work( let's be honest a good beater will find this)

Yes I know how long is a piece of string but what should I be expecting for a good job.

Rang st Mary's. Had a long chat. Very helpful even without locking in my work. Very rough price is in line with what I expect.
Not sure what to do with my quarter due to the large panels it needs. They warned me of the issues well beyond just welding skills.
So far I'm impressed. Next step will be to get the car up there for an inspection when it's ready.

Hi all.

Still thinking about this. St Mary's seems great but need to compare. Not after top 20 concourse but I don't want your standard smash and bash either.
Car will have all panels welded and close.just after a reputable company in nsw experienced in older cars to panel beat the car up to primer level.panels gapped etc.
I have a painter sorted.
