That is from an Elizabeth assembled HK. It is the 259th 307/327 stamped at Elizabeth (for HK, Pontiac and Chevrolet) so would be early 1968, probably February so from a Belmont, Kingswood or Premier sedan or wagon. Will be an auto engine as well. Number is about a year too early for a 2/69 HK. If your GTS is an Elizabeth assembled car it is fine though - it is correct as any other non-original Elizabeth 307. What is the rest of the number? The Monaro/Brougham launch V8 vehicles have engine numbers about 250 numbers higher than this and the 307's are mainly K10, like K10198, K1025. Most of the early 307's I have are K10 as well although I do have a K09. Edited by user Thursday, 28 April 2016 7:04:02 AM(UTC)

Lot harder to find Acacia Ridge 307 and 327 engines. I think i've only ever seen one original stamping, a 327012. I don't recall seeing a 3070 before which is what you want. I must have 15 or so GMH 327 and 307 engines, none are from an Acacia Ridge vehicle. From memory there were less than 40 x HQ 350 engines from Acacia Ridge too. |

You'll find one eventually but it still won't be correct as it isn't the original. I'd just run a 327, blocks are cheap and you can use the 307's crank, even heads if you want. There was a 660 block on Ebay last night, but an import for a few hundred $. |
