Sad news.

I've learned this morning that the co-founder of Rare Spares, Les McVeigh has passed away, last Friday, after a long illness.

I wish to pass on my condolences to the McVeigh family & also his larger 'family' at Rares & the Holden community in general.

He will be missed by all of us.

I only met him a few times but have to say they were all enjoyed.

Will be missed by the motoring fraternity.

Sad to hear.

Had a little dialogue with him a couple of years ago.
I've been mucking around trying to make some bits he would not make and tried every way to get a "lend" of some factory drawings he had. Even offered to give him a batch of the finished product...."Nah mate. They'd fry my arse" was his reply.

Good bloke. I for one am greatful for the energy he put into this hobby. RIP Les.

On behalf of the Rare Spares family we thank you for your thoughts and condolences. Les supported all car clubs regardless of model or brand. His plans for the future will ensure that parts continue to get made and sold.
