does anyone have any updates on the modified cars log book trial for nsw that was supposed to be starting this year ?

No updates yet. All we are hearing is that will be very soon.
It was originally to be introduced in the early part of the year. Now since it's August, that ship has sailed.

thanks Dr Terry.has there been any indication previously on whether cars will be able to go from unregistered (project cars) straight to log book ?

Same method as full reg - you'll need to pass a blue slip, but you can then go straight onto club reg (provided the club approves the car & the mods are legal or engineered). |

Thanks correct, whatever is legal to be registered on normal full rego will be eligible for concessional rego, once the club concerned is OK with the car. As long as the car is over 30 years of age or more. If the vehicle is modified beyond what is specified in VSI6, it has to gain engineering certification for those mods & then a regular Blue slip is required.
