Hi does anyone know if it is possible to use an external bosch fuel pump as in internal pump in a petrol tank? What part number is used for the high preasure holden (bosch) pump because i have 2 exernal pumps and i want to get a droptank made for my injected HX and i want to know if one of these pumps will be of any use so that i wont have to buy a new one, Thanks in advance GMH1975 Edited by user Tuesday, 24 May 2005 3:54:15 PM(UTC)

External pumps are electronic so I doubt that you would put one in your petrol tank - KA-BOOM!

External pumps generally need to be primed....by the internal pump usually. Besides that....and the post that Stephen has above (Kaaa BOOM), how are you going to stop an external pump from rolling around in the tank? If you want to run one pump only (ex |

im gong to be getting a droptank made and i want an internal pump. I wanted to know if i could use one of the external one that i have instead of having to buy a new pump. As for the rolling around i would have mounted it on the fuelsender just like the

I was under the impression that the only real difference between an internal pump & an external pump was the size of the inlet barb (large on the internal pump).
Maybe talking to Bosch could shed some light on it for you. |
