G'day people, today I purchased from a deceased estate sale, a Cleveland block bored and honed with new cam bearings and welsh plugs. I believe that it is a 4v block because it has little valve relief notches at the top of each cylinder. The issue is that the engine number is behind the passenger side cylinder like a Windsor engine. The number is 2h515971.I think it's out of an American vehicle because there's no jg. Thanks guys.

No such thing as a 4V Cleveland block. The number will be at the top just behind the water pump on GJ****C old XW ones or just above the fuel pump is the norm like JG33MD*****K or start with JH*********K Look for the casting date on the side of the block and it will have like a 19B3 = date and under that something like a D1AE-CA There are D blocks and square blocks and pillow blocks and XE blocks and XE pillow blocks, but no 4V blocks, and some of them blocks came with 4 bolt mains.

Thanks for the information. What I worked out was d2ae means cobra jet, and the casting date is 1h26 which means august 26 1971. The only stamped numbers are on the back of the block behind the passenger side cylinder 2h515971 and on the front drivers side face where the timing cover plate bolts on is 1j22c. At a guess I'd say it's out of a mustang or Torino. Looks like I'm gonna need a new dizzy if I'm gunna use it in my xd.
