Are there any advantages of fitting stock VN heads to a pre VN 308. I understand that you have to use VN pushrods and cam but can I use the red 308 head bolts? Any help would be appreciated.

Definite advantages. AFAIK a dead stock EFI 304 head will outflow 99% of any previous heads. Don't know about head bolts. You should be able to buy these new from Holden. You will also need a new valley and exhaust headers/extractors.

It is a great idea. I have the same thing as do a number of friends.
You will need a new cam, valley cover, headers, etc. You cant use the old head bolts as VN heads use small allen key bolts that are indented (cant think of beeter way to describe it) th

Redline make a low height valley to suit a single 4BBL.
