VY8VK69 - 924 is how it would read.

K69 tells you its a Commodore sedan
924 tells you its a Police car with a Gen III and 4 speed auto

Do not understand this ex chaser business, there are plenty of police cars, V8 and 6 cylinder, that were general duties etc.

(possible reason for coming up as a Chevrolet is the 6G1, in the US ISOVIN 6 = Australia, G = General Motors and 1 = division of General Motors. When we sent Pontiac GTOs to the US Pontiac is division 2 so thy are a 6G2. Division 1 is Chevrolet, and when we sent VTs to the Middle east they received the 6G1 US ISOVIN when VT and VX here received the normal ISOVIN starting 6H8. When we switched over in VY to the US version we should have used 6G8. So technically, EVERY Commodore from VY on, is a Chevrolet)
