I was lucky enough today to be in town and see a HT GTS Monaro that was in beautiful condition. After doing a blocky to find a spot to park I went up and had a chat to the owners hubby. Turns out not only to be a brilliant example but it gets better. Original 308 powerglide. Being an interested bystander didn't get me to much info, as to under the bonnet, but the most interesting thing about this car was the chrome flute trim. not sure how to call it 'cause it's the first time in 30+ years of playing with ktg's that I've seen such a thing. It's the same as a HK kingswood trim but it only fits between the flutes on the guards, as in vertically . Anyone seen this trim before as it looked original and obviously had been on the car since last paint job, which was about 19 years ago according to hubby.

I would say it is a custom thing. I've never seen it (that doesn't mean it doesn't exist) but the HT option brochure doesn't list it, nor does the cover GTS feature it (it has nearly every other option fitted including spats).

Wonder why that isn't included on the HT option brochure list

The "hubby" did say that a well known researcher/book writer had seen the car and verified it but he got the name wrong. so who knows?
