The cost of making the standard armrests for some of the Holden range was quite expensive and relied on having extremely good samples. The other issue was that the manufacturing process used originally is no longer available these days. Now the complete item has to be moulded and the grain etched into the mould itself. While this produces a stronger product It is not viable to produce in the various colours that were originally done.
The reduced sales quantities today mean that some styles, such as the Premier, are not priority based on the return to the investment.
