1937 is Saddle Tan metallic for a car painted all over in it. Its refinish code is 30528 but it is metallic so its refinish full code is 567-30528 not 568-30528.

Here is a car painted in it: http://oldholden.com/ohfiles/IMG_0044_0.JPG

There is a 1945 Sandlewood metallic with the refinish code 567-30583 so in theory there should be a colour in xxx-30582 but I do not know what it is.

1937 is Saddle tan Metallic. 568 is solid. 567 is metallic. 1937 is thus always 567 for the refinish paint. If it has 568 then it is a body plant stamping error (assuming it is an original GMH tag which can be a big assumption nowadays on unseen tags).

Tags have never been removed, paint is metallic, so must be an error in stamping. Are stamping errors common on paint codes?

Not common but not unheard of. Very rare on the TRIM line as this appears on the broadcast sheet, but the refinish code normally doesn't.

I have 8 of them but only 4 are certain to be Sandmans. 5 x L31 and 3 x L32. Plus a HZ Kingswood van that was made into an Overlander when new and a HZ Kingswood ute.

Yours will be probably J598694, if I remember correctly that was the HZ XU4 or XX7 van that was at the uncollected/abandoned vehicle auctions a few weeks back? I remember when I recorded its details it had that paint line error. I recorded it as a ? as there was no way to tell for certain it was a Sandman. It probably is but it could also be an XU4 with some odd options, but given it has to be an ordered car rather than a stock car (a 1977 HZ L32 M20 would have a 3.55 rear axle standard) you can never be certain.

As for stripes, if it had them and it was a Sandman they would be DY1. But given it is a retail order I'd be betting on DL7 (delete stripes).

Yeah that's the one, its a xx7 pack ?it's got all the sandman essentials apart from some items that have been swapped out,(got Hx prem dash pad and dash now and some shit steering wheel) also has kingswood drivers mirror as the door has been changed along with 2 gaurds nose cone and bonnet.
You can see around the door jambs near roof where black is and, behind rear bar has black there too.
It's had statesman sill moulds on it at some point that's rusted out sills.
