Hi All,

Im trying to chase down any photos or magazine articles of the Motor shows around the country through the period 71 to 74 of the GM-H display and in particular images of any utilities at the various GM-H displays.

I have been buying old magazines, trying to get in touch with photographers from that period and scouring the internet with no luck as yet.

Possibly the lack of images may be due to the scantily clad ladies which were also on display in the 70s at the shows and the cars may not have been a top priority from a photographic perspective? (which I can can completely understand).

Cheers

I have seen plenty of images from that period but never seen a ute like yours.

I just looked at pictures of the Adelaide Hot Rod show 1972, Melbourne Motor Show 1973 and Sydney Motor Show 1973 and the only commercials in them are the DeVan in its original form at the Adelaide Hot Rod show. Then the Melbourne Show (around May 1973) has some random white van dressed like the SuperChicken van and the Ewe't. Then Sydney later in 1973 has the Devan painted up as the SuperChicken van. If you find a copy of (I think) Wheels May 1973 you'll see the Melbourne Motor Show.

Have a close look at this video of Sydney 1973, I can't see a purple ute anywhere. The 308Q and the DeVan as the Superchicken are prominent.

So keep looking.
