Hi brains trust. Was asked to look at two cars today, deceased estate, and the family would like to know what they have (Value and actual).

Both cars are one owner, owner worked at Midways, car 1 ordered when working there, the second after he left and ran his own business.

Car 1:
HJ Kingswood Wagon Antelope with chamois trim, 150,000km, all books, except service book, so owner manual, swing tag, radio book, accessory booklet. Options are 308, turbo 400 with Tbar, limited instruments (oil, temp fuel), Power steering, dealer GM air (comes with GMH installation instructions and owner manual), radio (but since replaced with cassette deck) remote mirror.

Modifications are, Statesman front, door chrome and badges, extractors, sport air cleaner, chrome rocker covers, when resprayed all side molds removed, seats recovered but are good match to perfect original door trims, larger radiator, carpet, cassette player, GTS steering wheel, alloy wheels.

Condition, paint looks ok but has been siting for over 10 years and rear left needs a good buff, 7/10. Interior is very neat and would rate as 9.5/10

Engine not going but mechanic looking at it in the next few days.

Car 2:
HZ One Tonner Sandalwood metallic with Buckskin and tan trim. Option are 253, trimatic, GTS dash (although the car was stolen and recovered and now has a HJ GTS dash instead of the HZ one) power steering, integrated air conditioning (it must have been able to keep beer cold in that small cab).

Modifications are Statesman front, bench seat retrimmed, alloy wheels, extractors, larger carby and air cleaner.

Overall condition, paint 8/10, interior bench has been recovered and is just starting to rip. (I must admit I had been there for a while by the time I looked at this one and probably missed a few things)

Thoughts on starting price when advertising?

Hard to say Warren, If they were Survivor type cars probably $20k each, but they are modified so will drop accordingly. I'd hazard a guess between $10-$15k each initial asking, but without seeing them it is very hard as WBute says. Anything factory V8 with good panels and the rest as described is worth at least $5k as a wrecker, especially with shiny bits like GTS dash and quad headlight front so they are worth at least $10k as a pair.

If we all had the same (good) taste, who would buy all the Fords?
