Hi all, am new to all this, so be gentle.
I'm currently rebuilding a Hk ute and after a alternator bracket to fit a 308.
Checked on Ebay but not cheap.

Just keep looking, any HT-HG 253/308 had the alternator bracket you need. I think Torana ones may fit too and these are reproed. Confirm with someone here that they do fit HT-HG before buying though!

Will the HQ-WB set-up fit ? They are far more common.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

They may but from memory they have a similar problem to Torana where it fouls the rail. I remember even in the early 90’s I had trouble finding a V8 Torana one and used a HT/HG, not sure if it works the other way though.

HQ on style one will foul the rail, only just, I once grinded a bit out of the bottom of the curved adjustment arm which did give the clearance with motor off, but as soon as engine running it hit it everytime the engine throbbed. Just paid out and got the top mount bracket.

Thanks for the replies, I know that the HG 308 had the alternator mounted high on the passenger side but most brackets (mainly aftermarket) are low mount on the left hand side, as I have fitted a 308 HQ motor I don't think the mount is any different.
