Thanks: 4 times
I’ve got the two inner ones in, but cannot get the outer ones in.
Is there a special trick to this or is it just a matter of jacking the body up from different points?
I’ve got new rare spares bolts and when I shine a torch through the hole it looks to be aligned
Cheers

I put the outside ones in first and the subframe naturally pivoted on them.
I found that once the 2 outside ones were in apparently because they are so well aligned with the body, Now by holding the front of the subframe I could quite easily lift it up and lower it down on my own. Then you will find it a lot easier to line the rest up.
Jack it up from under the front of the subframe. I presume you are doing all this without the X member bolted to it. Even after you’re got those 4 bolts fitted there is still another
8 bolts and 2 screws to get lined up before it’s all fitted up. With the X member fitted to to it I think you’re going about it the hard way. Once those 2 outside bolts are in lift the front of the subframe up until those 2 little slotted screw holes at the top line up and all the other bolts will be pretty close to lining up too.
Put all bolts and nuts and screws in loose then tighten them all up. The X member has just those 2 big bolts to line up and the one on the outrigger extension. If they don’t line up well something is bent. Put some decent sealer between the subframe and body. It’s a tipical rust spot.
