Has anyone used the stainless versions of these that are all over Ebay and the 'web? If they work well i'll use some as originals always go rusty. I assume there are 4 on a HK? Front disc brake hose tops (2), rear brake hose top and bottom (2)? I wonder if these can be used on the ends of the handbrake cables too?

I have to get a rear brake hose too, any suggestions on any particluar brand/seller to stay away from? Doesn't have to be a replica, it is going from the body to a 9" after all! I just don't want to buy something that the rubber perishes before the rebuild is even finished (like the tie rod and ball joint rubbers on the rebuilt original front end - rubbers are buggered after a few years and it has never been used).

You're on my topic now.

Forget the stainless clips, they don't have enough spring strength, they can actually fall out after a while.

You are better off with the genuine Holden ones, the Commodore ones look slightly different to the early girls, but they still fit well.

If you're after a factory spec. hose you can't go past the rare spares ones, they use the same rubber hose as I do. Fully ADR compliant & will last as long (or longer) than the original factory hoses.

With the 9-inch, if a factory hose won't do the job I can make you any length of hose you want, it any fitting you may want, while you wait.

Thanks Terry, I was going to ring you but thought it'd be better to ask here and you could reply when you had time.

I'll see if Holden still sell the clips.

The original length hose will work, the 9" has the tab welded on in the same place as any other HK banjo diff has. I will need to get front ones made to go from the original sub-frame point to the (AUII-FG) Falcon calipers. But I need to measure those with the front end in first.

Are any of the aftermarket VT/VX/VU/V2 master cylinders OK? Or are they all rubbish? I can get an original Aussie PBR one sleeved and re-kitted, but will cost more than twice what an aftermarket one costs! There are "genuine" Holden boxed ones on Ebay but I suspect they are just cheap stuff supplied to Holden.

I just ordered some VZ clips at the local Holden dealer, only $2 each. Will soo how they go. I also ordered a “genuine” VT/VX master cylinder, will see how it goes too. Only $110 so I suspect not Aussie made. I grabbed an original VX one off a wreck this afternoon too so I have one to rebuild if the new one is rubbish.

The master cylinder turned up. Has MADE IN AUSTRALIA on the box, and has PBR on the cylinder like the original, but it is a different colour alloy. Lid says PBR on it too. I wonder if they are manufactured overseas but assembled here? For $110 you couldn't expect them to be built here surely?
