2 Sellers on eBay have 3 different versions of 6 Cylinder / GTS cables

Which one is the closest to the OEM factory fitted ones to suit a HT GTS 186S

Option 1

It would be no.2 as the GTS dash had the amp meter which doesn't need the red cable from battery to generator

Question asked by another ebBay user

G'day. I'm wandering if you have a battery lead set to suit HK 186s GTS? Would the V8 set work with GTS dash? Cheers. Christian.
bellarineclassicautos : yes we have 186S lead sets available also. the holden V8 set would fit as well. they are just thicker diameter lead

My question in regards to OEM is are the leads the same length V8 vs 6

Thanks

Of the 3 types listed:

Option 1 has the correct markings on the top side of the terminal, and the correct part number moulded into the underside. Options 2 and 3 do not. ( Part numbers 7432952 and 7438291)

Option 1 uses the correct cable size, with the correct number of strands as per the originals. Option 2 and 3 do not, using a high flex welding type cable. If the original clips are used the high flex cable can find its way onto exhaust manifolds and fans. The original type cable is stiffer, and will not do this.

Option 1 uses lugs which are identical to the originals, made from the same thickness and type of brass as the originals. Option 2 and 3 do not.

Option 1 has the internal stepped bore on the battery post terminal that the original terminals had. That feature is what the Patent number marked on the terminal refer to. Option 2 and 3 do not have this feature.

If it matters to you, Option 1 is entirely made in Australia using the the original manufacturing process. Option 2 and 3 are made in the US.

The vendor mentioned above either has the correct leads in stock for HKTG 186S GTS, or has ready access to them from the manufacturer. For some reason they have not listed them on their eBay store. Try this link: https://www.hkhthgpartsandpanels.com.au/product/holden-186s-gts-battery-lead-set/

Regarding the eBay question above, the correct 186S GTS leads use 6 AWG cable and the 253/308 GTS cables use 4 AWG cable. The 253/308 GTS leads will fit a 6 cylinder GTS car, but both the negative and the positive lead are 20% longer, which can cause issues with excess cable fouling exhaust manifolds and fans.
