Airconditioning to transmission cooler?

On a lot of the early commodores they have a decent size aircon radiator at the front fitted with an electric fan, could this be used as an auto trans cooler? or would it restrict the flow? Just wondering as they are very easy to get and cheaper than a decent size tranny cooler from the shop, looking at options for a TH400 that tows but has no cooling from the radiator. Any suggestions/ ideas welcome as the old chev truck has to tow the race car up the mountain and with it being air cooled I think the auto is getting hot. Thanks for looking and any pointers. :-) |

I'll start this by saying that I'm no auto tranny expert.
It should work but (isn't there always a but...) The volume of fluid it would hold MAY cause some issues (You'd have to keep the tranny overfull to allow for the volume of fluid to fill the cond
