Seen a TC Gemini Sandpiper SL Coupe for sale $35000 on Gumtree in QLD. 109,000km top condition. Snap it up snap it up snap it up !
Well ok $8000 maybe fine, I would think.
Someone has to try and preserve such cars.
Don't see sandpipers around, not to mention Gypsy vans, I have never seen a TG ZZ/Z in the flesh.

How about the LH Torana Plus 4 or the big G-Pak

Or how about the Vacationer crap, I know of a 3.3L VH Vacationer wagon that was snapped up for some stupid price, I would not given more than $300 for it.

I would not think of any Vacationer as a collectors car. maybe a 50th Anniversary HX a little bit ? or a 25TH Anniversary HQ a little bit or VC, VH SL/E Shadowtone is more so because it's something more to do with some class or I would say that HZ Statesman SL/E is the one that was a great car that wiped the floor with the HZ Statesman and Caprice, as such would get my attention as a desirable car straight away.
I would look at a Shadowtone but I would not look at a Vacationer or 25th Ann or 50th Ann I would not desire such at all because they are nothing to me but ok in that they are no just the run of the mill and then I looked at the Sandpiper and thought well it's a Coupe and a Sandpiper maybe their is something worthy in such a car, but the gypsy ? no ! and a ZZ/Z well yes I think such would be of value.
G-Pak I think so and the Plus 4 as well have some value.

People keep looking at all the top shelf cars but some of the others could be worthy I would say, nothing to do with money but value as a car to be worthy of what it is.

You know that if the HQ 25th Ann only came out with a 308 T Bar it may of been something but with a 202 auto d'oh! .

Most are just package cars. The Gpack is the direct LH equivalent of a HQ SS - they are even consecutive option code packages.

Any decent bodied HQ is worth money today.

Sales special/package vehicles are little different so attract some more attention. HQ 202 Premier or 25th anniversary? HX 202 Kingswood or 50th anniversary?

All things are desirable to someone, but the top of the line has always generated the most interest. Have been to car events for too many decades, and EH Premiers are always over represented at these events.

It would be nice if people appreciated other people's choices in rides rather than criticize, then maybe the fellow who does like the PLUS/4 would actually bring it out, knowing some tosser is not going to ask him why he did not buy an SLR5000 instead.

I'm probably guilty of having an over appreciation for the top of the tree cars, but I am seeing in my area a lot more just everyday old car on club rego. Like late 70s datsun sunny wagon or plain sl vb commodores, hq Belmont or Kingswood and I reckon its good for a well rounded landscape of what the roads really were filled with back in the day. It certainly wasn't all GTHO and bathurst monaros

I would love to see the Plus 4 at a show, nowadays many younger people would of never knew such was a reality, just like the Sandpiper.

I knew people who had such cars back in the day and I thought oh wolfys wife got a Plus 4, well that's better than a std one any day I was impressed and 2 mates had yellow G-Pak's and one had a red one so he says but I never seen it.
one dude I know had the Sandpiper I thought it ok, it was new then. their was some nonsense about the number of legs on the birds he claimed some one had stole one and brought out a shot gun and shot it in the air.
