Hi all,
I have a hr that I purchased 20 years age and always been interested in the full readout of my Id tags, if anyone could assist that would be fantastic.
Body : HR235AR-53402M Trim: 1140C-F42 “The 4 is hard to read and I think its a 4” Paint:587-1286 “ the 86 is hard to read and I think it’s 86” Insert 1242 Top: D
Body tag: M129531
Firewall HR5604541
The car is badged 186s, with the block 186k.
Thanks Brad.

The insert code will give up its identity. Is it definitely 1242 though?
The chassis number is way off too. Will he HR followed by 5 digits then two letters, probably MM |

1146 is Hacienda Blue metallic paint all over (no white roof). The paint line confirms this. I’ll check the 1242 later, that is the mechanical package code. Dr Terry will fix you up with the trim (F42). It is a Dandenong body and assembled there too (the PSN M129531 tells you this). There may be another M on the other side of the rib in the firewall. The HR235AR tells you HR, 235 is Premier sedan, A is auto and R is right hand drive. The number after it is just a sequence number for bodies out of the Dandenong body plant. I just checked, 1242 has been found previously on HR Premier sedan optioned with 186S and automatic transmission with disc brakes. Edited by user Monday, 5 October 2020 12:55:45 PM(UTC)

That’s great information, thanks for looking into it for me. I can confirm the car is an auto with disc front end.
Thanks

Hi Guys.
F42 is Honey Fawn coloured interior trim for an HR Premier sedan with front bucket seats.
AFAiK this interior trim & the Hacienda Blue Met paint finish were late additions to HR around July '67.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |
