China will gobble up all of Asia and then take over Australia easy as pie. GM and Ford has big investments in China and have given the USA the arse for years, look at Australia's last Falcon half of it was made in China back then, I bought a New XG Falcon ute in 1993 and the steering box had a problem that they said they would fix in the 1st service, as they said they had to wait for a new steering box to come in from China. Look at the VE Commodore interior all made in China or Asia shocking Daewoo cheap looking total crap especially the first years of the VE but got better quality as time went by and the VF was good. But China will not be able to sustain it's low currency when the USA falls and our Dollar will fall, China currency will have to come up then regardless of the games they have been playing in keeping it low as they can and this will make all our new cars etc all much more expensive from then on. so buy a cheap new car now if you can. Biden is a total moron and will start printing money like a dumb arse clown like Edie Amin and not to mention that total fool Obama did to try and look like he is on track somewhat to all the fools who know no better that such is just truly selling them out and that crap will drive up the Aussie Dollar again soon, so our exports will suffer again like it did due to that clown Obama.

I disagree with your comment re: XG steering boxes.
We rebuilt power steering for many years (1978 to 2015) & I believe that all power steering units back then were Australian designed & built.
The first imported rack used in Holden was the Japanese unit used in late VZs, because the TRW factory closed down in 2005. VE onwards were imported.
The Falcon units were much the same. The XG unit was just another version of the Bendix Bishop box which dated back to 1971/2, they were first seen in HQ & XA.
The EA to BA racks were also locally designed & built by TRW.
Dr Terry
P.S. While I agree with some of your comments re: Trump, Biden & Obama, we don't want to turn Fastlane into a political forum, there are plenty of other avenues for that.

It may of been some China parts in the box that he was talking about, it was one of the first months of the XG that came out, I think it was the balls in the shaft.
When I got the XG the steering was real vague over a bumpy type of patty rolled road I found at speed mainly, so when driving straight ahead say I would have to work at the wheel somewhat side to side like to keep it straight ahead, as to what it was creating the problem really was I do not know. but it was all fixed.
The XG steering box is somewhat different in that it has road feel, it's not like the XF and before old type tho it looks much the same as the old type that is so light and has a pathetic dead feel that they are dangerous when hooking in. you would not want a GT with that old type power steering, but the XG P/S feel is really good.
If one were to do up a old GT wanting P/S I would recommend using the XG P/S type box setup.
I feel the old manual steering was fine in my 351 XB ute with 265 TA's all round back in the days I never thought it was heavy to park like a HQ Holden they were heavy bastards and the HK-T-G were not that heavy parking as a HQ.
