I hope I am doing this correctly. I have just joined Fastlane and this is my first post! Can anybody help me track details of a HK327 GTS Monaro that I purchased new in Oct 1968 from Charleville Motors in western Queensland. Unfortunately all the details that I had were destroyed in a house fire in 1970 after I had sold it. Any help greatly appreciated

Unfortunately the only person who could find that is yourself. No one else would have the information unless they actually own the car. Can you remember if it was a Pagewood or Acacia Ridge build? Chassis number ending in SS or BB. Where was the BODY tag? On the firewall behind the engine or up on the cowl panel? Was the tag painted or bare aluminium? |

Thx very much for your response. Unfortunately as it was so long ago I cant remember those details. It was Warwick Yellow, was built in Acacia Ridge and I am pretty sure it had a bare aluminium tag. I was wondering if there is any way to find out which cars were sold by all the different dealers at the time? I know for certain that it was the only 327 sold in Charleville (or west Queensland for that matter)

Have to start somewhere. Theres a chance its still around a suprising number of 327's survived the 50 years, not always in one piece. Wayne

Hi Wayne, unfortunately I cant remember the rego nor the VIN etc. All the paperwork and photos that I had were destroyed in a house fire. I purchased it from Charleville Motors in October 1968 and it was sold in Sydney around November 1970 to the best of my memory. It was standard and in good condition when sold though it had been driven on some very rough corrigated stony roads around Cunnamulla where I lived. I know it is a very long shot that I will ever find out any info on it however I will keep trying. I will be visiting Charleville in July and I intend to make some inquiries with the locals. I am related to half of them so I am hoping somebody will remember some details. Thanks for your reply Baz

What colour was it Skybum? Do you remember the dealer you sold it through in Sydney or at least the Suburb? Can i ask why you sold it? Edited by user Thursday, 27 May 2021 9:08:42 AM(UTC)

It was Warwick Yellow. It was sold privately in North Ryde however I am not sure if the buy was from that area.I sold it because it was starting to get damaged underneath from the rough roads in west Queensland.
