I have a HQ 6cyl '72 Model, looking after it for my brother who is OS. About 10,000 Mile ago I installed new rear wheel bearings and seals. It hasn't been driven at all for about 4 months, parked on flat ground. I was suprised to find, after driving it and noticing the brakes were ****e, that the left rear drum was covered in gear oil. Upon dismantling, the seal shows no obvious signs of damage. Is there anything to look for (wrong seal, cracked housing?)

I havent pulled a Q diff apart, but I have worked on some 4WD axles. There maybe an oil seal inside the diff, where the axles enter the diff housing. This seal is designed to stop the diff oil leaking from the diff and down the axle housing to th

Hi Guys.
The HQ only has an outer seal, because the tapered wheel bearing is lubed by the diff oil.
These seals don't usually give much trouble. I will assume it is the correct seal & bearing, because there are 2 or 3 differet widths of seal, which |

Yes, single seal of course. Have inspected the housing - will have another look. As far as the correct seals, well, I bought them from a REPCO and had them pressed on at a mechanic, so hope they were the right ones....
