I have a couple of sets of high and low tone horns. They are the old metal bodied horns from the HQ era. Some have a bracket that is flat and others have a bend midway. Can anybody tell me the location of the dual horns in the HQ and which brackets are correct? Are they both on one side, or hanging off the radiator support, low tone on the driver side and high tone on the passenger side? The workshop manuals do not contain any images.
In the case of the extra high tone horn, of which I am yet to find one, where did that go? The NASCO picture is not very detailed for this particular horn. Has anybody seen one and what does it look like?

They will always be on the drivers side (battery in the way on the otherside). Mine have one bracket with about 20 degree bend and the other about 45 degrees

Thanks Sandaro. That is useful information. Are they in front of or behind the radiator support? It may be that the models with a standard single horn, on the drivers side, when optioned with a high tone horn had it added to the same side and used the bent brackets. After further reading, is it possible that models with standard twin horns used a horn relay and had each horn mounted in front of the radiator support, one on each side?

Mine are mounted on the engine bay side off the bottom edge of radiator support in the space below the washer bottle and in front of the inner wheel well. I can't say whether that is true of all HQS, just what's in mine. Having said that, in the HQ model there is minimal space on the grill side of the radiator support (more room behind grill in HJ-Z) and limited access, so I don't think it would be practical to mount there on HQ.

That is really useful, thanks, as I do not have access to an HQ to use for reference.
