I wondered why Holden stopped selling the Shuttle in 1990 without direct replacement. Was it unprofitable or were there any restrictions by Isuzu?

Isuzu ceased production of the first generation Shuttle in 1990.

The second generation Isuzu Shuttle was just a re-badged Nissan, so Holden probably didn't get involved, or probably wasn't allowed access to it.

Thanks. But Vauxhall assembled the Midi in Luton until 1994, and Holden could probably import it from the UK.

The $A value in the early 1990s was very low & imports from Europe & the UK were expensive at that time.

Meanwhile competition between Ford Econovan, Mazda E-Seies, Nissan Urvan, Mitsubishi Express not to mention the Toyota Hiace created a very crowded & price competitive market in Aust.

probably because no-one bought them....
and
a lot of them ended being used by GMH to shuttle (pun intended) people around their plants
