i currently own a lh torana fitted with a 202 red motor. i am lacking in the finer detailed info needed to build a solid engine. i was wondering if anyone has some good ideas for some work to be carried out. i wanted to stay away from forced induction but still get as much reliable power as possibe also i heard that the 202 blue running rear (elec. ignition, distributer, etc) can be fitted to a 202 block. is this true or am i being had on. thanks for your help it is much appretiated.

Red 202 block (with rope rear main seal). Blue or black 202 crankshaft and rods. 186 or 179 head (or red 202 head with adjustab |

Go for a black head as well they are far superior to the red and even the Yella Terra is marginal depending who and what has been done to it. The black head requires different intake and exhaust but the factory EFI has stainless steel extractors that work

Couple of problems John. VK extractors don't fit into a LH/LX without mods. The reason for suggesting to use the red head is so that the 186S inlet can be used. Unless you use triple dual chokes or the EFI manifold there is little point using a 12 port he |

Blue and black rods are the same as the Starfire ones and you can get them in a set of 6 already instead of having to source 2 starfire motors.
