Hi everyone

I bought my VN a few years ago and no matter what I do I still have the following problems:

1) Car seems to slip out of gear or vibrate (not sure how to explain) when doing between 70 & 80km. Have to take foot off accelerator and then either go under 70km or speed up a bit so doesn't make noise. Have had a few mechanics look at this but they have been unable to fix it. Have been suggested something about a tailshaft vibration??

2) Petrol and temp gauges don't work, particularly petrol gauge shows either full or empty. Had two auto electricians look at this and replace fuses and circuit boards and stuff but still not working. Have been suggested to replace fuel sender in fuel tank??

3) Odometer has just recently stopped working altogether and occassionally speedo sticks at zero for a little while then works again.

4) Seem to be loosing power steering fluid quicker than normal and there is a small puddle under car (thought was oil) but have replaced hoses to power steering fluid box.

5) Also, drivers door lock is broken - have to lock from inside (i.e. cannot push down door lock and close door to lock car - we shut drivers door, open passenger door and then lock drivers door from inside). Does anyone know if this can be fixed (get another door locking mechanism? get another door??) as I know lots of VNs seem to have the same problem.

Any help with any of the above would be appreciated.

Many thanks
lsarich

yo gday.. 1. the gearbox sounds liek a selector.. 2. id start looking at the wiring for the fuel and odometer if they have replaced the fuses.. its got to be a wire shorting somewhere.. thats my opinion.... i know what its like.. i got a vn in the shed..
