Just wondering if anyone has or has records of a later built HK Brougham than mine? I believe it came off the line in the last week of July 1969 and was assembled in with the early HT's. It's a dandy built car.
big tag body no. 81469-54467M
small tag.81469KJ168024
firewall HK55175MM
Also did the body numbers continue straight through or did it start again with the HT. As in the Ht no 00001 then a HK no 55699 then HT no 00002 as the line progressed?

It'd be hard to know as they weren't all built in the one VAP.

It's the PSN's that continue. The chassis number and body numbers reset for HT but HK's built after HT body 1 and chassis 1 will continue with HK numbers as yours does.

I have Dandenong HT's completed back in March 1969. The first HT Brougham from Dandenong was completed on 28th March (off-line pilot). The second on 18th April (on-line pilot). And the third also on 18th April but as a CKD for South Africa. Volume HT production began in May so a July HK would be a car delayed for whatever reason, possibly was built earlier in the BAP and waited for final assembly.

Here is a Dandenong HT online pilot, PSN J162507 completed by 3rd April 1969. It is an earlier PSN than yours, it was a 253 4spd Premier wagon. It is most likely BODY number 10.

Another good way to fix yours will be its engine number, and how it fits amongst HT 307's.

The other thing to check is the body plate. If it still has a HK style body plate (with the model and body number all on the one line) its body was built during HT restricted production so up to near the end of April 1969. If it has a HT style body plate its body was built after the start of HT volume production which is all but the start of May 1969. It is also possible that the body was painted and hard trimmed and left the body plant (with its chassis number and body plate) but was delayed in assembly. In this case the PSN and the engine number will tell the story. I don't think it will be July assembly.

Just reread the info I've got and don't know where I got July from. It was finish built in last week of April.
Can't supply the engine number as I decked the block back in the early 90's and now has a VP number. I'll hunt round for an old rwc or rego papers, I might get lucky. It has the HK tag with the insert line. also remember that when the original paint was removed from the vinyless roof there were no holes for the side badges, previous owner had put the HQ Statesman badges on but no evidence of previous holes being patched even from the inside of the panel. because I didn't have holes to locate the proper badges I kept the HQ ones.
