A mate has got me into getting toy cars, he started with giving me an old Batmobile from the 1960's. this one it says 1973 on the box.
So any road, i have got me a OZ Wheels from Repco White Sandman P van and a pink with yellow stripes GTS Monaro as well. There was a rush at the door for them and i was lucky to get them in fact !
Now today i have bought myself today a DDA HJ yellow Sandman P van and a HQ silver Monaro GTS 4D sedan, they have lights front and rear need battery's bonnet opens with motor.
I have never bought a toy car in my life until now. i hope that's the end of it ? but such cars as Holden i just could not let such go !
As i owned a Green HX Sandman P van 5.0L 4sp. and a white LH L34 Torana years ago.
So i seen such is for sale today in Repco and they only had the silver GTS, so i grabbed it, thinking that's it at least i got that ! not to mention i did have a Silver HQ Kingswood once. but i wanted the P van ? so i looked at another Repco and they had non ! so I showed the GTS to my mate up the road and he said try another Repco, i said no way would they have them, but rand them up and yep 1 Yellow P van left, so we dashed down and got it.
Now does anyone other have such cars and what is the go with such, do you have a story and what do you have.
I had a car given to me by my G dad in 1971 i think, it was a blue Bugatti type 35B a big steel thing that would be worth a fortune now, but i lost it some time, i do not know when !
But my mate says that the cars that i have bought will only gain in value ? I do not know ?
I have informed my wife that i have about a million dollars wort of first edition car books etc, so if i die, do not just toss them out ! and she it's recons BS !
So what have you lot seen happen to such things when one dies, some people do not know that some things are worth good money. So how about a talk about such things, may be interesting or an education !

Its a moving window of opportunity and interest. Most the people who could be interested in any items of memorabilia will eventually end up in incontinence nappies in a wheel chair in some corner of a retirement village. Its all about the timing, disposable income Vs interest. Get it right and you can leave something behind for your kids. Get it wrong and they will get a rubbish bin delivered outside your garage and fill it up. I have 400+ commodore era books, manuals and magazines to turn back into cash (something useful) for the kids and I am getting into it now. Its a bit like the stock market, sell at the peak when the stock value is high.

Went to fellow I know who is moving to a nursing home and he has some amazing stuff, but its not worth anything because no one does discreet electronics, ham radio, etc. so its all going in a skip and off to the tip.
