Hey guys, Just wanted some feed back on a round about value of vehicle I recently acquired. It’s a XY Fairmont rolling shell with very minimal rust, mainly in the boot seal only. Vin indicates it’s a factory V8 and one number off GT. It has been stripped but comes with all the original parts, plus a reco top loader gear box, 32 spline diff, and full reco cleavland 351 with mild cam, also the original factory windsor block. Was a registered tribute 10 years ago before it was stripped and been stored in a garage ever since. I picked it up for 25k, and had it gone over by a couple of old school restorers, and according to them it’s one of the best condition shells they've come across for many years. I'm not a ford man as such and would appreciate any feed back anyone has to offer. Cheers. Edited by user Sunday, 19 May 2024 9:03:26 AM(UTC)

How much work are you planning yourself? It costs upwards of $40-50k just for paint today. Then all the other stuff to make it into a running car. Will owe you $100k quickly. Might be worth keeping the Cleveland, top loader and 9" and onselling the rest. Then buy a nice car already painted to put the driveline into? Problem is finding a decent car today. |
