Hi i need to know if the volume and cruise control? buttons on the sides of the steering wheel can cope with the volts/amps to run my air horn and elertic horn as the wheel on my car is in custom leather and i dont want to use the normal button on the wheel , I know it needs to go through a relay but will it burn out the momontary on/off volume or channel changer on the steering wheel controls

They run a tiny voltage through them, that is then sent down the horn wire (not enough voltage to trigger the horn relay & make it beep) before being decoded by the decoder box & sent to the radio.

There is still only 1 connection from the horn in the

If you ran a microswitch off one or more of the 6 radio buttons, you'll still only have the 1 horn wire to run it back thru, so it still won't be independant of the main horn.

The microswitch is fine electrically though.
