Hi all,
This might just be the fact that my LH is a 30 year old car... but here goes...
The lower portion of the rear seat kinda "fits" in place, then you do up the two screws in the front to hold it down. It looks like it's the original method of fitting... in fact I know it is, as it's a one family car. Here's the trouble - it's very insecure. Sit slightly forward on it, and it rolls forward. The back bit seems to slip up, instead of staying down nicely seated. It just rotates on the front screws. The seat belt buckles fall down, also.
Doesn't bother *me* too much, as I always drive, but when friends (or my German Shepherd) are in the back, then tend to have trouble with it.
Is this normal, or is there something that isn't right? Does everyone else have this?
Cheers, Jason.

Hi Owen,
You're right - I think I'll have to directly compare to other cars of that era... both those with 30 year old seats, and those who have had their seats reconditioned. (If anyone bothers.)
Yup - the dog definitely has a seat belt attachment
